Solved Fresh Win 11 Pro for Workstations.. 156GB used space?

Windows 11 Pro for Workstations
what's taking up this space? I have not connected to a network yet. I did run the unattend to park Users on another drive. Explorer is showing hidden items as follows:

PerfLogs = 0 bytes
Program Files = 0 bytes
Program Files (x86) = 1.26 GB
Program Data = 8.36 MB
Users = 0 bytes (artifact from installation)
Windows = 12.4 GB

so, where and what is the extra 142.34 GB??

You might try running a utility such as "TreeSize" that can show you what is using the space on your drive.

There is a free version of this program available here:

TreeSize Free is a free disk space manager for Windows. The software shows you the sizes of folders including all subfolders.

Post back when you determine what is taking up that space - I'd be curious to hear what you find, especially since I've not done anything with the Workstation edition of Windows.

thanks I will try that. Does it make sense that the ~5GB installable ISO could even balloon into 156GB?

that seems like a magical amount of compression... 31 times ?! maybe richard hendricks of pied piper helped with this??

16 MB swapfile.sys

that'll do it. my first time running so much RAM.. this makes more sense now
