Yes it does. Just make sure you don't have Edge open when modifying the file
as you will get a permanent prompt to restore (duh!)

Path for Edge Canary is "Edge SxS"

Thanks, this works as well, more straightforward and dare to say more elegant.
The other is a bit more geeky and requires locking up your preferences file which is not ideal.
