GIGABYTE Z890 BIOS update available to enable Intel 200S Boost Enhancement

 GIGABYTE News:

April 22nd, 2025 – GIGABYTE Technology, one of the top global manufacturers of motherboards, graphics cards, and hardware solutions, is pleased to announce that our entire line of Intel Z890 motherboards now fully supports Intel® 200S Boost technology, offering gamers a simple way to enhance performance while maintaining warranty protection.

Intel® 200S Boost delivers pre-configured overclocking profiles for Intel Core Ultra 200S Series processors that enhance gaming performance by raising frequencies across processor components for improved framerates and system responsiveness. GIGABYTE Z890 motherboard owners can activate this feature with a simple one-touch profile in the BIOS, eliminating traditional overclocking guesswork while supporting blazing-fast Intel XMP profiles up to DDR5-8000. Best of all, Intel® 200S Boost is fully covered under Intel's 3-year processor warranty, allowing gamers to enjoy performance benefits without traditional warranty concerns.

To enable Intel® 200S Boost on GIGABYTE’s Z890 motherboards, K-SKU CPU along with memory modules that support XMP functionality are required. After downloading the latest BIOS version from motherboards webpage (which marked with "200S Boost" support), users can simply activate the Intel 200S Boost option within the BIOS settings. A clear XMP DDR QVL (Qualified Vendor List) will be provided to help users select optimal memory configurations for this feature. It's important to note that performance improvements are directly correlated with the rating of CPU and XMP memory being used.

Limitations and Warranty Disclaimers
  • Overclocking Intel processors with the 200S Boost profile will not void the limited processor warranty provided by Intel. All other warranty terms remain unchanged. This program does not apply to processors overclocked before the embargo date.
  • Overclocking results will vary. The 200S Boost program does not guarantee that any overclocking frequencies will be achievable or stable, or that any level of performance will be achievable.
  • Some percentage of processors combined with certain board and memory module electrical characteristics will not attain the maximum “up to” speeds described in this messaging. In such cases, lesser overclocking settings may be used without voiding the limited processor warranty provided by Intel.
  • GIGABYTE provides no guarantee that overclocked systems, even if overclocked within the parameters described in this messaging, will be stable or otherwise operational.
  • If the processor, while configured with 200S Boost overclocking limits, becomes unstable, it should be returned to non-overclocked levels. If the processor continues to be unstable after returning to non-overclocked levels, contact Intel for support.
  • Systems configured beyond the “up to” limits of this program will not be covered by this program, and use of such configurations will void Intel’s limited warranty.
  • This program provides no coverage to damage caused to non-Intel ingredients (including but not limited to memory modules and motherboards) by overclocking, even if overclocked within the parameters described in this messaging.
  • The 200S Boost warranty applies to Intel boxed processors.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I see the new BIOS now. I say that cause I just checked yesterday and there was none, so this had to be released overnight. Anyway, just downloaded it and will install later. Curious to see how it performs on my Gigabyte Z890 Xtreme.

Thanks.
