I hope this is the correct forum to post my question regarding Gmail and Outlook app.

So, I have MS365 and still using the Outlook Classic app email client and for some reason my Gmail contacts are not showing up on the Outlook app.
I do have IMAP disabled from my Gmail account (maybe thats the issue), I dont know.

Its not really a big deal since I only have few contacts, but I need to why my contacts grom my Gmail account is not appearing automatically to my Outlook email client app on my desktop.

I don’t believe it will do that by default. Gmails structure isn’t the same as Outlooks structure. For instance, it may look like it has folders in Gmail, but they aren’t actually there. Where as you can create tangable folders in Outlook. Perhaps that is why you must export/import the contacts. Not exactly sure.

Export contacts from Gmail

  1. Go to your Gmail account
  2. Select Contacts
  3. Select More
  4. Select Export
  5. Choose the contact group you want to export
  6. Select Outlook CSV as the export format
  7. Select Export
  8. Choose Save As
  9. Select a location to save the file

Import contacts into Outlook

  1. In Outlook, select File
  2. Select Open & Export
  3. Select Import/Export
  4. Select Import from another program or file
  5. Select Comma Separated Values
  6. Select Browse
  7. Select the saved CSV file
  8. Choose how you want Outlook to handle duplicate contacts
  9. Select Next
  10. Select Contacts
  11. Select Finish
