Hi Folks, most of my contacts have a UK Mobile number, all were added with the leading zero included. Only one has given me trouble.
The person in question has 2 mobile numbers registered at his Gmail address.
If I add all his details separately or combined in Google contacts, the result is in my edited image, in this example it only includes one of his numbers. If I use the other number, the result is the same.

I can see the leading '0' is missing on the second phone number but what is your question please?

Hi wiganken The 2 numbers are the same and were created without leading ZERO
My new image was taken after adding both emails & phone number's with leading Zero
Why does the middle number show +44 as it is the same number as above it.

If the middle number is the same as the top number then have you tried making the middle number the 'Default'? I'm just wondering if this may allow you to edit it to show the leading zero.
If both numbers are the same aren't you able to delete the one beginning +44? You may be able to do this via Gmail webmail rather than via your phone?

The only options when right clicked using my phone was, set as default, copy to clipboard or edit number before call.
Nothing in my Contacts other than rearranging their order was possible but did nothing, include delete & replace.
I am visiting my friend on Sunday and will suggest modifying his set up.

In Australia, the zero isn’t needed if the country code is present. I believe the iPhone acts the same way.
Are you able to change the category for that one number from “Mobile” to “Home” or “Business” (or something) if so does that make any difference? Perhaps it’s Gmails system of identifying duplicates.

I have always thought making a call from all countries including the UK to a UK mobile was +44 etc.
Calling a UK mobile within the UK could be made using a 0 as the first digit.
As I am in the UK and only have UK contacts all my numbers start with a ZERO.

These are the options for Google Contacts for a mobile number:- Home, Work, Other, Mobile, Main, Home (fax), Work (fax), Google Voice or Pager.

Try OTHER?

We are the same in Australia, our landline numbers (State Area Codes) start with a Zero. (As do mobiles) but you can dial here without the zero;

For instance, Brisbane (An Australian State) has an area code of 07, but we can just dial 7. Not that this helps you with your Google contacts, I don’t think.

I have tried different labels for email & contacts, nothing changed on my Android.
