Hi folks
For those who like OPENSUSE's rock solid distro (IMHO infinitely better than Canonical's Ubuntu system) based on its extremely stable SLES server and with Redhat turning CENTOS into a bit of a "Non player" there was doubt as to the future with the server switch to ALP for the next server release.
Good news here then - it's continuing with LEAP 16 being based on the new ALP which will come out next year
While I like ArchLinux for really lean and mean distro's OPENSUSE has always had really solid leading edge distro's where all the software just works seamlessly so great for a decent desktop with a GUI.
This company is more popular in Europe (SUSE) but if you've never tried it grab a Live image and run it as a VM.
Cheers
