Alright, i admit it. I might highly regret this statement but i am soooooo insignificant i am not worried about privacy. Heck, when i was i college my student ID was my SSN. When i got a pilot's license, that also was my SSN. Now, i admit that was back when i had a dinosaur for a pet, but...

Having watched a few videos i find what i do strongly object to is Google limiting or bombarding the user with so many sponsored adds that one has to dig under mountains of HS (horse poo-poo) to find the actual results - if even at all present.

I know this board for very strong expertise and reliable information, a statement that i cannot make about many. Can some of you folks weigh in on a search engine that provides results with ranking strictly based on relevancy, but a search engine that retains most of the other good features that Google does provide? If there is a mechanism to "search within results" even better, long ago i was disappointed when Google removed that capability.

Edit: I do not mind paying a fee as long as it isn't horrid as i know there are expenses involved!

Much THANKS!!! for your help,
-Bruce

I often use Startpage search engine which is now the default search engine on Vivaldi web browsers. It is considered one of most private search engines out there. It presents search results from Google and Bing, but without tracking or logging users online activities. The search engine operates from private servers located in the Netherlands, thereby denying Google a chance to collect users data. Therefore, users get the best of both worlds, they have access to search results of Google, while maintaining a high level of online privacy.

By the way while it is built in to Vivaldi there are web extensions of it for Firefox and Chrome as well as a Startpage app for Android phones.

Much appreciated, everyone!

I'm going to mark this "Solved" at this point as it will take some time to evaluate all of these relative to my browsing. If anyone knows of any others that provide superior capability please don't hesitate to post-
