Solved Hotmail/Outlook pay for email

Today Hotmail/Outlook sent a message that i needed to update my account to a paid account for their service, so i canceled/deleted the account ! I have Gmail & Yahoo so no biggie ! Anyone else get a notification about them charging for a pay account ?

@Stigg ....... yep it's legit !! I could delete everything on the cloud & it would give me some room but i'm ok without it ! I like Gmail better anyway !

@flashh4 : I see. You are out of storage. OneDrive isn't consuming a lot of it, is it?

@flash4 If you are anything like me, it galls me to pay for more storage on one cloud server (onedrive) when I have tons of free cloud storage elsewhere. You can always move some of the stuff on onedrive to clear space for outlook. My Outlook doesn't take up much space dince I do not keep a lot of emails and clean out my outlook every day.

All one has to do is save the attachments to the computer and delete the email.

With YAHOO/AOL mail you get 1TB storage and 15GB storage with Gmail. Microsoft's 5GB is paltry. Copying Apple no doubt.

You get 15 gigs of mail minus the attachments with MS. MS just does not want to store all of the attachments for free.

Personally, I always store my attachments on my computer that have regular backups done.

The screenshot was from a bitter 92yr old client of mine. Ended up paying the $20 yr sub.

Oops, my apologies, jumped the gun a bit.

That means that Outlook is more generous than Gmail as everything counts on your free space with Gmail, docs,, high end photos etc.

@flashh4 Just a bit of advice. I would steer clear of yahoo if I were you. They do not match outlook and gmail when it comes to security on their servers. I have dealt with a lot of hacked accounts that were yahoo. It's taken me years to get all the little old ladies and gents I deal with to get away from it.

Each to their own of course but I've been using AOL mail since it was an ISP

I like Yahoo where i get very few junk mail if any most days ! But i have had it forever ! But mostly i use Gmail !!

I still have a Yahoo account. It's true that their security used to be a joke. They were one of the last to only be using an http url!

Bu eventually they pulled their socks up. They have 2FA and nowadays seem (at last) to be as secure as most every one else.

The main reason I stuck with Yahoo is the convenience of being able to create up to 500 disposable email addresses. I use 72 of them at last count.
