Hi

How do I disable or uninstall phone link please?

It keeps showing in my TM. It's disabled in the system settings (below), there is no listing in the control panel as an installed app, there is no listing in the services applet, and I can not rename the .exe to .old even after I end task the app from the TM

Thanks in advance.

@riffwraith

You can uninstall it with REVO Uninstaller (free).
There's probably a way to uninstall it through Windows, but I like REVO, because it gets all the leftovers.

Just do the uninstall, then do the "Scan" for leftovers that is offered.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?

It is in the System Components.

Assuming phoneLink is stopped, use those 2 in Powershell:

Code:
Get-AppXPackage *CrossDe* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} | Uninstall-Package

Get-AppXPackage *Phone* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} | Uninstall-Package

Thanks!

I don't see it listed, and if I do a search for 'phone' or 'phone link', I get 0 results. Is it not called phone or phone link, even tho that's how it's listed in the TM?

How do I get there? I can't get there by typing 'system' or 'system components' in the search field.
From settings/Apps/installed Apps/ Scroll all the way down to System Components.
But use the Powershell commands I posted for you.
Refresh page Please.

Ok, found it. It's 'system component settings'

There is no uninstall, but there is a drop-down to have it 'never' run.

That seems to have done it. Thank you.

Is Revo something new within the past 5 or 6 years? I'd not seen it until a couple days ago but found it very useful in getting rid of the bloatware on my new laptop.
