Solved How do I increase the size of the font on tool bars and internet URLS

Look at the two screen shots attached (one of them is this page right after I typed the heading for this thread. You will see on both of them show normal size fonts EXCEPT where the URL and sometimes tool bars are located. Notice the difference in the font size. I can hardly see it. My screen resolution is 2560 x 1440.

Any help to change the font size on the top of the window would be appreciated.

Thank you

Increasing font size in different elements of a window is a matter of trial and error. Some font elements can not be changed at all. In some cases. the elements of windows are tied to other elements. For example, when you change the icon font size, it also chnges the size of the font in file explorer.

It all starts with scale settings. I suggest you have display resolution at recommended and scale at 100%....no more than 125%, before making changes. Then use one of the following tools. Run as administrator. Adjust a little at a time until you can reach an acceptable appearance. This is very important or you can throw everything out of whack.

Wintools Font Changer. This is a portable app. You do not install it. Scroll down to the bottom of this page for a link to download. It's in blue.

Winaero Tweaker . It has both portable and installable versions. It's download is about a quarter of the way down the page and is also in blue. Winaero Tweaker
NOTE: Both these apps have been around a long time and very good apps.
ALSO NOTE: Both these sites have a ton of paid advertising links that can confuse the user on which link is the right download. Make sure you use the download links in blue that designates their own software.

Make sure before you start you have the latest graphics driver.
I also suggest you create a system image using free imaging software just in case something goes wrong.

I have found that every time my graphics driver is updated, I have to make my settings all over again. Both apps allow you to export your tweaks or profile though if you want. I don't. I just do it all over again.

Does anything here help:

Icons Size. This will affect the text font size for icons in Address bars, Desktop, File Explorer. Icons will resize according to overall DPI setting.
Title Bars. These are the headers at the top of the page or program that is open.
Menus. These are top line view in programs such as File/Edit/View etc.

"My screen resolution is 2560 x 1440."

Mine is 2560 x 1600 (16:10) and I use a Scale factor of 150%(Recommended)

Settings > System > Display > Scale & layout.

I would set that for starters and vary UP/DOWN to suit. It is very much a compromise as Applications vary a lot and you cannot necessarily vary elements within those Applications.

I would suggest maybe 150% or 175%

Your scale is generally set to too small rather than specific elements.
From those screen shots you may have also changed Web Browser Zoom (scaling) to less than 100% (Control + - is the same).
