How to backup/copy/move mails in gmail.com to internal /external drive?

Hello everyone,
I want to backup , copy, move (any one possible action) mails with attachments from my gmail address to internal \external drive (usb, ssd, hdd). I do not want to send these mails to cloud storage or Google drive. Any guidelines/tutorial link for this ?

Download to Google drive{15gb storage space) and then can it be sent to internal/external drive by copy >paste or move ?
Internet needed for each time? Or offline work?
Presently exporting contacts in my tablet.
No definite time given for completion of export.

Mine is a 391mb zip file. Took about 10 minutes for Google to get it ready. Really depends on the amount of information involved.
