I have changed the user name for my files at C:\User following Shawn Brink's Excellent instructions in the Windows 10 forum at
Change Name of User Profile Folder in Windows 10. My only problem is that although I did the regedit prescribed, when I look at run>msinfo32 to look at System Information the username is listed as the previous name. Is there another registry parameter which must be changed?
Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100

Everything is working due to the link described in the instructions, but it is confusing to have the old user profile name hanging around

Thank you for your help

Hello Jimbo, :alien:

If you are referring to the "User Name" path in msinfo32, then that is the account name instead of the account's profile folder name.

Thank You for your response. I tried changing the user account name, but that didn't change the msinfo32 value. However, I am not going any further down this particular rabbit hole. Also, I was disappointed to find out that when changing the account name, it demanded two names (John Doe) whereas my preferred name would be simply "User" Thank you again for your response. I will close this question.
