Thanks anyway, pal!
The thing is there's gotta be some place else where those yellow icons are stored.
Hey.
1) Here is the location at the registry to check and define the icon of .zip.
2) Unfortunately some third-party programs do not follow all registry and explorer settings. The correction can be done by them.
All we have the same issue per program.
3)
Check the icons that i use for zips. Perhaps you would like it.
4) I use by by side if it required
Filetypes ,
Default Program Editor (bug:any time i restore from backup , task bar stop works. It solved with sign-out or restart) ,
filetypesman , and
registry. File types and icons are a problematic element of windows as its multifactorial: third party apps , registry , windows file types settings. Eg. when we install 7-zip it changes the zip icons. Also Microsoft puts system icons at files that we cant change e.g imageres.dll (if you find a solution to this please tell me. Still i search for a way that works 100% to change the default folder icon.)
To solve this, I use three solutions in this order:
-back & restore with default programs editor (warning: as its buggy ensure that you have image backup and restore point created before you do Restore. One time with win 10 it crashes (BSOD) all the system and did clean install to fix it.Right now
it crashes the taskbar after each restore. That could be fixed with sign-out or restart.)
-Restore from restore point
-Restore from image backup.
As the last 2 arent so easy , DPE is the current best solution.
5) Try
Q-dir. It shows me all the icons correct.
