Notice that my usb is still hot and even after my laptop is off. How can i disable power supply to the usb port after i shut down my laptop?

It may be a hot port, for phone charging capabilities, for example..., unplug the laptop might do it.

Your first port of call should be your Bios because it is the primary controller of such things.
[I'm saying Bios because we all do. Its correct name, assuming it's not a decade old, is Uefi.]
Your user manual or your computer maker's support site / user forum will tell you how to get into your Bios.
Running this command in an elevated Terminal window will also get you into your Bios.
shutdown.exe /r /fw /t 0

While you are in there looking around, do note that there will always be an option to leave without saving any changes just as there will be an option to save any changes you've made.
If you have a digital camera, it might be worth taking a photo of each Bios screen for future reference.

Thanks for the reply but how do i open up the elevated terminal window ?

right-click on the Start button & choose Terminal (Admin) then click on the little dropdown arrow and choose Command prompt
Terminal, Command prompt.png

Some commands work in Terminal without deliberately going to its Command prompt variant but my computer is in the middle of a long procedure so I cannot test whether this particular one works that way or not.
I've just tested the command in Terminal (Admin) as it opens & in the Command prompt variant of that.
This command works in both. Not all do, hence the need for me to test it.

Look for anything that refers to power settings for USB connectors.
I cannot be any more specific because all Bioses are different.

I don't know.
I do not know what you will find.

You could take photos of any entries that look relevant & post them here.
You could try your computer maker's support site & any user forums they host.

That would most likely be a UEFI/BIOS setting instead.

Do you have a reliable guide to fix this problem?

The exact steps will vary per motherboard brand and model.

What brand and model is your laptop? Someone with the same may be able to provide exact steps.

You would basically boot into UEFI like below.

Next, carefully look through the settings without changing anything by mistake to see if there's one for USB port power management while the system is off.

If there is, you can change that setting to disable or off depending on the available options, and then save your UEFI changes and exit to apply.

If your laptop is an ACER Nitro AN515 then you're out of luck. I've tried many things and the UEFI settings are sparse. Acer Care Centre is of no use.

May i know which option should i be looking at? The usb option has been disabled but it does not help...

You did not post the Advanced menu and I think that, if the option you want exists at all, it will be in there.

Your Bios does not provide the setting you want.
Windows does not provide the setting you want.
I'm very surprised that it's not in the Bios.

I suggest
1 You search / look through your Start menu for any power-related utility that was installed by your computer maker.
2 You go to the computer maker's support site & their user forum [assuming they have one] to search / ask for guidance there.

Best of luck,
Denis
