I have a friend who is a radio presenter and needs to access on his laptop with Windows 11 24H2 and an Asus external CD-ROM CD/DVD which seem to be formatted as RAW.
Is there a way for Windows to be able to read RAW files?

Is there a way for Windows to be able to read RAW files?
Commercial audio CDs contain files in the format of cda at about 1KB in size that are only pointers to the actual recordings. I've never been able to see the actual tracks the cda refers to but can Rip the tracks into .mp3 or other formats to my computers. Haven't needed to do a forensic investigation into the actual contents.

Just get him to try Exact Audio Copy (EAC). The best way to verify that the music tracks will have been extracted without errors/glitches is by setting up the AccurateRip feature in it: AccurateRip » Exact Audio Copy
Up date to the CD issue.
I now have in my possession two of my friend's CD that he could not play on Windows 11 Media Player. When he inserted the CD into his external CD-ROM it showed as 0 Bytes free of 0 Bytes what he did not tell me, because he is not computer literate, was the the CD is CDFS formatted!
Solution is installing Windows Media Player Legacy the issue is solved.

Yeah, but Audio CD tracks that typically follow the Redbook standard don't have any error detection in them. That's why EAC with AccurateRip is still needed to avoid the potential risk of encountering glitches. Most commercial music tracks will have been ripped by multiple other AccurateRip users in the past so verification will have been made possible through the online database that it uses to compare hash codes. The more users choose to let it automatically submit these codes, the less likely a user falls victim to errors in the musical data. It verifies that the musical data you have matches that of all the other users who own the same CD.
