1. How can I reduce the default w11 context menu vertical spacing to the reduced spacing/padding of w7?

2. Since I restored the full menu (no longer w11's compacted default), I notice have dupe entries in different parts of the menu for entries like "Unlock with filesmith". How can I reduce the dupes?

No native method I have found to reduce spacing in context menu. Someone else may can suggest some third party tool I don't know about that can do it.
Regarding editing the context menus, it's hit and miss and hunt and peck and always has been; even more so in Windows 11. There are different right click context menus depending on where you use it and they are scattered all over the registry. There are the locations I know about. Be careful working in the registry. I suggest you make a system image before altering registry keys.

Myself, I have had some success using Ccleaner and ShellExView as described here. I did not choose to mess around in my registry.
Some items can be removed using one of Brink's tutorials so go through this list to see if any apply to what you want to remove.

Like I said...hit and miss...hunt and peck.

Thanks for your insight and suggestions!

As I understand it, there's the new windows 11 context menu and the expanded legacy context menu (hidden on a fresh windows 11 install) that appears above or below the other menu.
Unlock with... must have been added to both menus. So a context menu editor would have to see both entries from both the abbreviated new menu and the legacy menu.

I already tried Nirsoft before posting. But I had a look at your links and tried all the majorgeeks apps from it (and other ones in chinese previously) but I couldn't find the entries.
I didn't want to experiment with registry, especially not in several locations, unless there was a clear cut one and done tutorial, for the known risks of bricking the OS.
But I had a look and couldn't find the entry in regedit either lol.
Guess I'll have to leave this until there's a known fix for the dupe entries.

Have a look at Easy Context Menu from Sordum (Germany). The fourth mouse from the left in the toolbar offers to clean up your context menus, and lists most of the things that have been custom added, sometimes twice. The items Restart Explorer and Zap 'em are custom additions I added to my desktop context menu. The several Take Ownership items are in the context menus that show up in different contexts. Just click an item to select it (or use Ctrl to select several) and click the Delete button on the left.

I saw 1 entry for drives, and 1 for File And Folder. The Former removed the entry when I right-clicked on a drive, so I left that enabled. I disabled the latter. Technically that should have removed all entries for file and folder, but it actually only removed the dupe, from the bottom half of the menu, leaving the only 1 entry above.

Thank you very much!!!
