- Windows 11 Pro v. 23H2
Hello,
I am NOT on any version of Windows Server, and this is home equipment NOT a business environment. I am running the Hypervisor from multiple machines, two of which are Win11 Pro (one is a desktop and the other is a laptop) and a third machine is on Win10 Pro and is a 13 yr old HP DV7 laptop (the HW has been upgraded over the years to its maximum capabilities - 16GB RAM, 2 x 1TB HD, the C:\ is an SSD the second HD is a mechanical drive). All VMs are running Win11 Pro.
Win11 Pro versions:
Desktop: 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3447)
Laptop: 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3737)
Win10 Pro Laptop: 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4598)
My questions are the same for all of the physical machines and the multiple VMs I will be running on each of them.
How do I:
Recognize which VM is utilizing the microphone since there is only one microphone per one physical computer?
How do I assign the access to the microphone to a specific VM?
How do I switch the microphone access/assignment from one VM to another?
The most VMs I will be running will be 7 on my desktop, the others will be limited to 2-4 based on each physical computer's limitations. I have already tested out that my desktop can currently run a maximum of 7 VMs simultaneously. I already know how and have been using the "enhanced connection" to be able to make the audio work on the VMs successfully. I am using the VMs to sign in multiple times simultaneously to a 2x weekly conference call to participate and to also record it through OBS successfully, so I don't need to know that part of the equation, only the part about the microphone assignment/access/control.
If there's any additional information that is needed about my computers, please let me know.
Thank you.
