OS
win 10
so my download speed is 400 + but my upload speed went to 1.5! after internet searching we identified this app called Killer which turned out to be the cause. deleted everything I could find related to Killer (as advised in many reliable internet places) and the upload speed went back up to 12. However if I reboot the computer or get updates Killer goes back down to nearly zero and has to be deleted in task manager.

seems a bit stupid to me that an Intel app is designed to wreck internet speed. so far as I can tell turning it off doesnt affect anything else.

Can it be prevented permanently from re running itself?

@Msongs ,

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think you can get rid of Killer permanently. If you have a Dell computer using the Killer driver, which is necessary, the Killer Suite of four services installs.

My approach has been to disable the four Killer services, which I have to do a couple or three times a year, when they get turned back on my a Killer update. I am not sure, but deleting services may alert to Killer to the fact that they are missing, so it reinstalls the default Services and their settings, (Auto and Manual), depending on the service on a regular basis.

Just my speculation . . .

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

Yes. Windows Search - look for Services

Click left-up cornet on Name (to sort by Name) and Disable the following:

2025-01-02_192841.webp

Thus, only the Driver and its embed settings - will be running - without the Network Internet Killer apps.
