Any solution to this? I actually wanted to install the new 24H2 update, but instead of choosing release preview channel to receive it, I've chosen beta channel, so the Windows update automatically downloaded and installed 23H2 repair version instead, which I did not want anyway. So after clicking on restart, when I log into the windows, now I always see pending restart, how to solve this? Thanks

UPDATE: Somehow managed to remove pending windows 11 23h2 repair version, it is now up to date, but when i enter the windows insider program windows, I cannot leave it, and it says - restart, pending there, even tho I restart, it won't go away

Ok, UPDATE 2: Somehow, I managed to make it show - get started in windows inside field, which seems as if I am not in the Insider program I guess, and I checked update last night, all was fine, it didn't start downloading Win 11 repair version...but today, when I click on check updates, it again started downloading it, how's that possible, when it seems as if I am not in the Insider program, and I do not have any option to leave it, it just shows - get started. So how to make it stop downloading Win 11 repair version? When I stopped manually downloading it via service, it showed as installed, and I thought problem solved, but when clicked on check updates, now it again starts downloading it?
I clicked on something to leave the program, and it displayed - sorry to see you go, if you wish to register again in the future, blah blah...so did I manage to exit the program? If I press to install Win 11 repair version, then after restarting, it will always display me to restart, it gets stuck.

Um, the Beta channel is not on 24H2; it's still on 23H2.... Don't ask me why; MS-think....

Ok, but how do I make it stop installing Win 11 repair version? Can't stop it, and if I let install it, I get displayed to restart non-stop, the same as in insider program, restart, and when I click on it, after restarting, it keeps displaying restart button.

WINDOWS UPDATE PROBLEMS

1. run troubleshooter-settings-system-troubleshoot-other troubleshooters-windows update-RUN.

2. Reset Windows update using Brink's tutorial Reset Windows Update in Windows 11 Tutorial

3. Run sfc after resetting update components. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

My theory is that the Beta channel is still for beta testing 23H2 developments (they haven't stopped just because 24H2 is around the corner). Meanwhile the Dev channel has morphed into the beta testing channel for 24H2.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
