Well this is strange, now all of a sudden I can't use windows notepad to view a cbs.log file ....always could before....

It's probably too big. There is a 54k limit on file size with Notepad read only or 45K for editing. Try using WordPad or better still get NotePad++ Downloads | Notepad++

interesting Keith as I've always used notepad in the past ...never had a issue ....file is 53.9kb ....

I did find a way to open this cbs.log file using notepad .....worked fine ....file is NOT to big ....but I should not have to use a different way to view that file. There is something changed in this new Windows update...
Windows will NOT allow notepad.exe to open any *.log file.

The CBS log does tend to grow in size. You can delete it and it will start again. Just checked mine and it was 580KB so I've deleted it.

Like I said ....mine is not too big , I've already had notepad open it. BUT Windows only want the user to use wordpad :mad:

I just opened NP 1st ....then had it look for a file to open. I copied that cbs.log file to my desktop ....clicked on it and NP opened it right up .
But by default now, Windows .608 does NOT allow NP to open ANY *.log file now.
