Hi folks
Those of you running Linux VM's / Hosts might be interested to know that in the upcoming kernel rel 6.14 support for Ms Copilot is being rolled out where possible -- not sure yet of the distros but I'd imagine the "Big boys" i.e Fedora (Redhat /IBM) andUbuntu (Canonical) will probably be the first ones to have it available. Some security concerns though raised.

Still an interesting development to come if you use Linux either as a host or on anyn kind of VM system on a Windows Host.

I find Copilot on Windows with EXCEL particularly these days far better and improving very quickly with Windows updates.

Ms does already provide Edge for example both stable and Dev versions for Linux distros not just for WSL so it can use standard Linux kernels.

Cheers

Hi there to anybody watching this topic

I've created a Fedora rel 42 release machine with the relevant new kernel 6-14.x under Hyper-V and will see what the co-pilot does when it's available which should be shortly. Hope to test next week.

Fedora - easy upgrade from F41 -- copy existing vhdx file so you've got your current VM, and create a new VM with the copied vhdx file. then as per : How to Use DNF5 System-Upgrade Command to Upgrade Fedora - LinuxCapable ) .

In the parameters set releasever=F42 and ensure 3rd party repositories in any are disabled. Follow on screen instructions which will involve a re-boot and then re-enable any required 3rd party repositories. The whole thing was seamless, error free and took about 5 mins !! -- and so far no errors on the VM even though it's the latest available.

All these Co-Pilot -"Nay sayers" !!! It actually works and getting better all the time. A.I is here to stay --In any case as Linux users know - you don't have to enable or even use these types of features if you don't want to -- You DO have a choice !!!!! -it's Windows where "You Will Comply .---You will Obey --- Resistance is futile ..."

Cheers
