But do be aware that OEM computers may contain that program or one like it for a 30-day trial. One thing I don't like about McAfee is uninstalling it leaves behind something like Web Security that doesn't get uninstalled, I've had a few instances of having to manually edit the Registry to get rid of it..

See if the McAfee security scan is installed. It piggybacks on Adobe reader.

Searching - what? where? how?

Common scam popup, but .... OPs post shows background behind image looks like a McAfee program/process is running.

McAfee often installed unbeknownst to user if care is not taken installing other programs. You need to physically check your system to see if McAfee was installed

Even the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR) does not get rid off Web Security?

Revo Uninstaller Free Revo Uninstaller Free
Uninstall using Revo. After uninstall use the scan function to find leftovers. Check every leftover Revo finds and delete it.

Edit. There is a portable version of Revo that does not have to be installed.
