Windows 11 pro
I use Winndows 11 and have comcast mail, Gmail, and Microsoft mail-it ends in live.com.
I can sign in to each individually.
However, There is no sign in option with the newMail on my taskbar. I se my3 accounts like a client should but rere is no sign in or out. I am very confused because when I Google or Bing terms get commingled. I do not have 365 and I do not plan on getting it because I am not a fan of subscriptions.
I cannot find a sign in sign out with this new hotmail which is called new mail. If I use the browser version then I can sign in and out but if I put this new mail on my taskbar for convenience it opens up to my three meal accounts as it should but there is no sign in or out.
Also has Mail ending in live.com been deprecated? I have used it for 20 years so would have to tell all my contacts to use other addresses I have like gmail.
Please enlightenment me.

But I do not understand why anyone would want to sign out.
I do not use NEW outlook but my thinking is it works just like other versions of Outlook when it comes to signing in or out. It keeps you signed in all the time. The reason for that is your email is coming in all the time in the background whether Outlook is opened or not. If you have notifications turned on for the app, you get notifications of any new email you receive. You open the email app and, voila, there it is.

I understand about signing in and out I was at my Gmail and signed in then out so misled myself.
It is new mail with the little zero as was pointed out. I thought it used to be the old Hotmail.
I guess the @live.com is my handle and I am using their service so can use it ok.
Incidentally, I don't use OneDrive or any cloud and have disabled it I have some external drives I use with Macrium
Thank you
PS After posting I noticed that the new mail from my task bar went to the mail site with ny 3 accounts unlike the browser where I have to sign in. So I still consider the taskbar icon with the little zero being signed in and when I leaveI consider it as out?

All the old email addresses still work. You still log into the account with the same email address and password you have

myname@hotmail.com is stil a valid address

As are:
  • @outlook.com: A Microsoft email domain
  • @live.com: A Microsoft email domain
  • @msn.com: A Microsoft email domain

All the above will go to live.com

Microsoft now keeps you logged in by default.
To log out of live.com or your Microsoft Account “on-line”, click the profile pic at the top right and you should see a “sign out”

Yes, when I use the browser version WWW and sign in I do see my icon in the upper right and can sign out. It’s only that little icon on my desk it has no profile icon in the upper right, but I understand why now.

The App is called "New Outlook".

" I still consider the taskbar icon with the little zero being signed in and when I leave I consider it as out?"

Basically yes, when you open "New Outlook" you sign in to all your Email Accounts you have setup in the App. So you sign out of them when closing the App.
Thus very convenient if you have several Email Accounts.

Outlook.com, Live.com, Hotmail.com are all still valid, and are domains of Microsoft Accounts.
