Methods tried but still stuck on Windows update error

Hi there! I hope you are all doing well.

I am trying to update Windows to the latest (Dev Windows 11 Insider Preview 23493.1000 (ni_prerelease)) preview to use Copilot. In the last two days, I have tried almost all the methods mentioned on the internet. but I am still stuck, and I am continually getting this error. Download error: 0x80248014
Here are some solutions that i have already tired:
  • Windows update troubleshooting: Tried
  • install updates using Microsoft PC Manager: Tried
  • SCF DISM scans: Tried
  • Flush DNS: Tried
  • Disabling third-party antivirus Tried
  • Deleting and updating wuauserv: tried
  • Deleting the Software Distribution Folder: Tried
  • Staring Windows install service: Tried
  • Changing region to USA: Tried
I can't see the Windows Update service in Services.

In your other post you indicated that resetting WU using Brinks tutorial worked. If it still doesn't, did you try the 'repair install with inplace upgrade' that was suggested?
Are you attempting to install this update on incompatible hardware.? If so see this before doing a repair install.. How to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware - Pureinfotech

  • In my last post, I asked about how to enable the "Pause Updates" button. mine got disabled.
  • My machine is compatible for installing Windows 11.
  • I haven't tried "repair install with inplace upgrade" yet.

Thanks Syed. An inplace upgrade solves problems when all other troubleshooting fails.
Side note: It would be to your advantage to fill out the System Specs section of your forum profile. That way those trying to help you can give better advice for any specific problem you have.

Have you tried to download the relevant ISO from UUP Dump and run the setup? Also if your computer is non-compliant you may have to bypass compatibility check and disconnect from the internet during the upgrade.
