Surface IT Pro Blog:
At Microsoft, we’re dedicated to providing modern, streamlined support options for Surface business customers. To better meet your needs, we’re evolving our approach to offer two self-service options: The Surface Support Portal and the Surface Management Portal.
These enhanced tools offer a more comprehensive and time-saving experience compared to the existing Microsoft 365 Services Hub. As a result, we’ll be retiring Services Hub for Surface support on August 31, 2025. But there’s no need to wait -- read on to learn how your organization can start benefiting from our new portal options today.
A modernized support experience
The Surface Management Portal and Surface Support Portal provide centralized access to essential support services, simplifying the management of your Surface fleet and saving valuable time. These portals integrate seamlessly with tools familiar to most Microsoft customers, ensuring a smooth transition to this modernized experience. Key benefits of both portals include:- Self-serve support with centralized tools. Save valuable time with centralized access to the resources you need to help manage updates, submit your own support and services tickets, track repairs and monitor device warranties.
- Full visibility and history of Surface support and service requests. Track ticket status, download shipping labels, stay updated on new device serial numbers for exchanges to help track newly assigned devices and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Support for bulk device repair and exchange orders. Simplify workflows by including multiple devices in a single-service order for hardware repairs, replacements, damage claims and related tasks.
- Easy access to key information. Get the information you need quickly, from technical documentation to warranty status.
- Strong security and protection for your devices. Safeguard your device service and support requests with Microsoft 365 authentication, multifactor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls to restrict access to authorized IT admins.
Which portal is right for your organization?
Both the Surface Support Portal and Surface Management Portal provide simplified, modern management support. However, the Surface Management Portal includes additional services designed specifically for Microsoft Intune users.
