Microsoft Office 365 Default font update - What do you think?

So ever since Office 2007, the default font has been Calibri, which replaced Times New Roman. Many people weren't sure about calibri, likely since it was a bit overused, but personally I didn't mind it. Anyway, with a new Office 365 update, the default font has been changed to Aptos over all software (including outlook). This is since aptos is more modern, and also scales up much better than Calibri - it is higher def.

Here is a comparison:


They are both the same size, 18pt, however Aptos Display appears larger.

It is more modern, however for now I have switched word back to the default of Calibri as I'm not too sure...

I think Aptos looks/renders better, but, I use neither.

Haven't gotten it yet. Being old school I keep in mind that any recipient of a digital missive I send may not have the same font installed. I have amassed over 10,000 fonts in 30 years and many of those came with previous versions of programs/Windows.

I've made Google's Roboto my Office default. It's not as tight as Aptos and curves not as exaggerated. (Letters like the g in Aptos get on my nerves)
I even made Roboto my system font as it renders slightly larger.
Better for old eyes.

Yep! All those years of schooling, I never did learn to print that one gracefully! And the ear on top!

Sometimes capital Q is another one, gets cut off in some dialogs, especially the ones with a long outer tail.

Never heard of that font before. I do like it though. Reminds me of Tahoma/Verdana but a bit more condensed. That would work well for printing.

I love Roboto, especially for web development. I also like the MS default font (as seen on this forum providing you are on PC)

It doesn't use the overcomplicated g.
