Has anyone used Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter on Windows 11? Is it worth using or better just to leave it alone?

Appreciate any input you can provide, ie pros, cons, or adverse affects.

In the past, yes I have used it. However, since MS has deprecated moay of the troubleshooters, and that one was designed for Windows 10, I have doubts it would work in 24h2. Maybe if you would tell us what your issue is and why you are considering using it, we could give better advice.

glasskuter, I'm not experiencing any performance issue per-say. I use Norton and they provide a report that show things like broken registry entries, etc. (They don't tell you what they are, they want you to purchase their software) I don't use registry cleaners saw this when I googled how to locate broken app and registry entries. I don't have many of these issues but it got my curiosity. I know when a file is uninstalled they may leave remnants behind. I appreciate the advise it makes sense. Thank you

I avoid using Windows Troubleshooter at all times. Most of the times as @glasskuter has mentioned, most of which are deprecated and rarely if ever gives me a viable solution. For uninstallation issues, if that's what you're looking for, I recommend using Revo uninstaller as that a lot of times solves all issues regarding left-over fragments. However, Revo uninstaller does require some bit of knowledge to use for the most effective removal of applications. If you're looking more for a more novice uninstaller, geek Uninstaller or even Wise Uninstaller is pretty good. For installation of applications, I recommend Winget or Uniget. Winget also requires some bit of knowledge, but is one of the most fastest and most reliable installers, usually done through command line, though there are several GUI versions available for it as well. Uniget is a great program for finding, downloading, and updating applications. This is a GUI version, and covers several installation methods - and somewhat to a degree most user friendly. You can also use WinUtil program (by CTT - Chris Titus Tech Solutions), which is perhaps the best to use for the installation and uninstallation of common Windows software and applications (It also features tweaks to enhance your Windows experience as well that can be easily applied or removed).

Always when uninstall a program or windows app, I second using Revo Uninstaller, being sure to remove all the leftover files and registry entries it finds after the program uninstalls. I've depended on it for at least 15 years. The free version is just fine for most people. It also comes in a portable version.
