Solved Microsoft removed ethernet turn on/off symbol on systray panel.

On Windows 11 the ethernet adaptor has been removed from the popup panel of the network adaptor symbol.

Why is this and how can it be restored?

They even removed it as an option to add with the edit interface on the panel. ....

If you want to enable/disable ethernet go to Settings>network & internet>advanced network settings>network adapters.

I have a shortcut target: C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:::{992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48} pinned to my taskbar which gives me access to diable my ethernet connection. I got it from someone on here but I'm sorry, I can't remember who.

Right click the combined Ethernet / Sound volume on the Ethernet icon and you get a direct entry to open Network and Internet settings, click it and you're directly at your NICs listing in the new Windows Settings panel.

One quick work around.

-Copy-paste this into a notepad:

@echo off
netsh interface set interface "Ethernet" Disable

-save it to your doc folder and name it "Disable Ethernet"
-create a shortcut on your desktop, then right-click the shortcut>>>Properties>>>Advanced>>> check "Run as Administrator"

-Done

Do the same to enable ethernet. Just change the word "Disable" to Enable.
