 Windows Blogs:

Microsoft Edge is doubling down on our vision as the AI-powered, smarter browser. We keep innovating to make browsing more convenient, fast and fun. For us, AI is not just a trendy word. We are leading the way in using this magical technology for our customers’ benefit – with responsibility and customer trust at the forefront. Our mission has always been the same – giving you intuitive, helpful tools and features, so you can have more time for what you love most.

Today, we’re excited to announce new AI-powered features available in Microsoft Edge that can help you enhance and express your creativity, stay focused, and get more done.

Check out our latest features below.

Now available: Personalize your browser experience with AI-generated themes

Over the years, we’ve made a wide variety of browser themes available to allow our users to personalize their experience. We’ve also seen how AI can help you express your creativity and make things your own. This is why today we’re excited to announce we’re taking browser personalization to the next level with the official launch of Edge Theme Generator. You are now able to create your own personalized Edge browser theme, using generative AI, and powered by Microsoft Designer. Now, anything you can imagine, you can turn into your very own custom browser theme. From designing a beautiful summer landscape to help you get through your workday or even prep for fantasy football season with your very own custom image to rep your team, Theme Generator can help you create it. You will also be able to customize the color of your browser frame to match your browser theme.

To get started, simply visit the theme generator website and in the prompt box, describe the theme you want to create and Edge will generate it for you. Don’t have anything specific in mind? Not to worry, you can also have Edge surprise you by creating a theme on your behalf. There are also prompt templates available if you need inspiration. And if you’re particularly proud of your custom theme, be sure to share it on your social channels – another user can even apply your theme to their browser. We cannot wait to see all that you’ll create!

Edge Workspaces gets a boost with AI

We’ve seen so many examples of Copilot in Edge helping people be more productive and streamlined as they browse. Copilot can help you find what you’re looking for, faster. It can help you write an email and get it ready to send on your behalf. It has begun to make your day to day easier, freeing up time for you to do more of what you love. And today, we want to share an exciting new feature to not only help you get more done, but also streamline your collaboration with others, reducing friction. Edge Workspaces already helps you get more done whether you’re collaborating with others or tackling something solo – it keeps all the information you need for a project in one place through saved windows, so you can stay focused and organized across tasks. Today, we’re excited to share the integration of AI with Edge Workspaces – which means now you’ll be able to set up and start using your own workspace even faster.

To get started, simply type your query into the Bing search bar, like “plan a trip to Croatia”. From there, you’ll see a pop up asking you if you want to create a new Edge Workspace with AI for the trip. Once you select “New Workspace”, it will open automatically showing your original search along with prepopulated tabs formatted into tab groups, all from the power of AI. What’s better, you can invite others to this dedicated space. So, if you’re going on that trip to Croatia with family or friends, they too can access it, and be able to see all the options you’ve found for lodging and things to do, eliminating the need to share links via text or email back and forth. Those with access to the workspace can also add tabs and make updates at their own pace, and all these updates can be seen across those in the group in real time, allowing everyone to stay on the same page.

This feature is now in preview, and we’ll continue to add more search queries and roll out to more users over time. Also, remember that while AI generated Workspaces is still in preview, user-generated workspaces are already generally available to help you get more done, together.
