Hi,

I by accident installed the trial version, than uninstalled and installed Home Free version, whose code was emailed.

But still see the trial code/key on startup...….can I change it to the one I received, in regedit?

Hoping to hear from you.

Thanks.

Thanks. Cause this code I got initially, later 35R4-RJ6G, thought I should replace. Reinstall didn't help even when I pasted the sent, still see the original trail one....

I may be wrong, but in my experience Macrium's server seems to automatically dispatch a 'new' Freeware License Code whenever an installation takes place if the user registers the installation with an e-mail address.

I did that, that's how I received the code, even after pasting during install still see the trail one.

I have never bothered to register with an email when installing Reflect Free (or Trial, come to that). Registration is optional if you chose 'for home use', it's only required if you say that you want a Free licence for commercial use.

If you don't register then the Free installer will install the generic Free key, ending in -6ED1-DUZD4QD. Reflect Trial's generic key ends -6SJU-G321PJ1. At the end of the 30 day trail it will revert to Reflect Free and the installed key will change to the Free one.

If you want to make it expire now, then turn off 'set time automatically' and set your Windows system's time a month or so ahead. You'll get a notification, and when you start Reflect the option to purchase or to continue as Free. If you choose Free it will change the installed key to the Free one.

If you choose to do this, remember to reset the correct time when you're done else you'll find you cannot browse the web any more - certificate dates won't match your system time

After reverting to Free....

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Why? It was explained to you that you didn't have to uninstall the trial version. You could have removed the trial license or just let the license run expire.

Just let the trial version run out. It will convert to Home Free version.
