MS Edge loads at Boot - How to stop this?

MS Edge loads in the background when I boot up my system.
Please advise how I can stop this from happening.

Guessing everyone's does since the search functions go to the edge browser by default. Edge is so integrated into the system I don't know if it can be permanently disabled safely.

System settings -> apps -> startup and turn off Edge.

Mine is set to off but Task Manager still shows it running in the background also.

If you haved tried everthing, how can we help?

I bet you have not tried everything e.g.

1) Disable it from Task Manager, Startup tab.

2) check Task Scheduler for a sneaky task that starts it up at boot time.

3) check Edge Settings

Edge loads at start up by default. It's called Startup Boost and is meant to make Edge open faster when you want to use it.

Turn it off in Edge: Settings > System and performance.

I had this problem. I have no Edge entry in my Startup now. That's also in Task Scheduler and Services. You can use Autorun (a micro portable app from Microsoft) to disable that.

Bree's tip of disabling Startup Boost in edge seems to do the trick as I know longer have it showing in the Task Manager after rebooting. That works for me.
