Need help with updating Registry entry LOCKED DISK

I've probably missed your point all together.
But on the scant possibility that I understood what you're after,,,,,,

When I want of need to look at my PS's registry, I first click my START button, then click on "RUN".
And in the RUN box I type in REGEDIT and click the OK button.
That takes me into my registry, where I can do, whatever.
