Ok.. Erin came over and looked a a few cats. and this is the one she wants..
Violet a kitten.

,. plus I have an order set up for Amazon for a carrier and a bed..i'm also getting the basics
Food, litter, litter box.. collar, bowls and toys.

Thanks.. I hope we can get her for Erin.. I contacted the shelter today so we can get the ball rolling. She's going to have an aunt and uncle cat,. Phoebe and Milo.

I sure will.. and we're taking loads of pictures of her to share. My plan is to take some and then leave the camera with Erin to take pics when she feels like it.

I hope to get the cat between the 1st and the 3rd of Dec.

It just says she's a kitten.. but we'll find out more before we get her. Erin could use a fur baby right about now.

Well.. I'm sick and tired of playing games with the rescue groups so were going to the shelter and getting a cat tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the rescue groups. But Arturo is a cute cat! He's not too old. I think getting a shelter cat might be better. They are in need of a good home. My wife got one of our miniature dachshunds from the animal shelter before we were married. He was in bad shape, she said. He turned out to be the cutest, most lovable dog you could ever have. What does Erin think of Arturo?

Erin hasn't seen him yet. I decided to go this rout last night and I called her to tell her about my plan. My biggest gripe about the local rescues is they have so much paperwork and they ask so many odd questions.

Yes.. we have more than enough money to care for a cat.. we're caring for two and ourselves nicely.

While I understand they have to be careful it's as if they want to be perfect and to face facts... they can't be perfect with every placement. Their biggest concern should be the interaction between the future owner and the animal. Period ...

Oh and I had a dachshund.. nice dog.. but I wouldn't get another.. just to barky for me.

Well.. I'll keep this updated during the day..

Thanks.. I suspect the only delay will be with getting verification from her apt complex on having the kitty. I know she wants a "new cat" aka a kitten and they have two there.. so that's likely what she will get. It took my brain a minute to digest the meaning of "new cat",, LOL

Well, Houston... the kitten has landed. Her name is Violet and she's about 12-13 weeks old and she's black. In addition she's part Main Coon..
Erin is so happy with her and Violet was bonding with Erin

That's fantastic to hear, Jeff! Violet is a great name, and that's the perfect age to for bonding purposes. It's great to see Erin is happy.

We went up there and the lady showed up but Erin didn't know it was her so we went home and I went back and well. She was there.. I went and got Erin and then she met the cat. It was instant love.. Erin loves that kitty to death. The woman is amazing and we get a free vet visit and shot paid by the Anderson county animal shelter.

Victory!! Now food and nap time.

A quick update .. today.. first visit to the vet for her post adoption checkup and rabies shot. Then .. more love time with Erin and a darn good brushing out. Violet is part Maine coon and that coat is long and lush.. must maintain.

So pleased to hear Erin has her new companion, she looks like a nice cat, although I couldn't see her face because she's black and up against Erin. If she's part Maine Coon she'll be a big cat. Here's hoping Erin has many years with her, will she be an indoor cat?

My 2 were both rescue cats, the eldest is 18½ and the youngest is 10½ they were both indoor/outdoor cats when they were younger but now they're older they don't go out much and would much rather stay in.
