new issue win11 - The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date.

I cannot assign drive letter.. same thing in my paid partition software.
My computer is running fine, several ssd's and a hard drive.

I am having issues with when I plug in USB thumb drives, I have to load a driver, and then they work, after getting unknown device. I have yet to find a fix for that. But I can make them work by updating the thumb drive driver in the device manager each time I plug in a USB thumb drive.

Note, in my Win10 computer no issues at all with USB thumb drives.

bak to Win11:
I have gone though all fixes I can find, disabling all drives and fixing them by reinstall drivers, etc.
stie get the error when I try to run disk manager and try to change driver letters, I get the 'not up to date error.
it is exhausting..

note, huge pia when I uninstalled all drives, I had to run a repair to get it to boot again from c: drive, but all seem to be back up and good, just can't get past the error with disk management. Win11 is still a PIA. IMHO.

Have you tried to permanently assigning a drive letter to the Thumb drives in Disk management?

As per the message (not a new thing) I was reading this. Not sure I follow with Covid fogging up my brain.

The issue can be caused by improper partitioning or inaccessible partition..

I'm suspecting this was caused because you had more than one UEFI disk installed when you installed Windows and the boot configuration data BCD wrote to the wrong disk. Always, always install windows with only one disk installed.

If you're able to get into disk management, post a screenshot. Make sure all the columns are expanded so we can see all the information.

it occurred to me, maybe an issue with the motherboard... I installed it not long ago... I have the correct settings in the bios... maybe something weird in there. Asus Z790 Strix

been using Norton for 25 years... have it on several computers... it is not doing anything to this, as far as I know... (I will check again). actually, I used it int he 1980's too,, used in computer aerospace labs. then on PC's after that..

I keep my computer up to date, and found this update now:
SATA
Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver V20.1.0.1015 for Windows 11 64-bit.(WHQL)
Version 20.1.0.1015
26.04 MB 2024/11/05

for my Asus Z790-H.
it looks like it may have fixed some of the issues, if not all. Stil testing usb and the disk management features in Win11 that were broken on my computer. I knew it was something else fraked it up, it wasn't me!
