New MS ISO files?

When can we expect new official updated MS ISO files for Windows 11? Is it likely to be on Tuesday or will it be 23H2 in October?
Not Insider versions!

I know we get new ones in May. The one they have now is the .1702 from May. I checked about two weeks ago.
I guess we might get new ones in October- November?

Remember the Windows Updates are cumulative. So if you grabbed the May 2023 xxxxx.1702 ISO, you probably only have a CU, a .NET Framework, and Windows Defender patches. You may possibly get one of those KB4023057 updates, too.

Maybe MS releases one for H1, then another for H2?

The spring Version upgrades, e.g. 21H1, are no longer so the MCT [.iso/USB] should continue with Second Half until the announced End of Life for Win10 of Oct. 14, 2025. And they probably will continue to be behind 1 or 3 on the Build updates.

Yes the most recent is 22621.1702, I'm sure it can't be too long until 23H2 ISOs are available. I'd like to do an in place upgrade /repair to 23H2

23H2 could be as late as December - who knows? If I had to guess on no evidence - end October?

You may not have to do an In-Place Upgrade.
@Brink is guessing that 23H2 will drop in October 2023, for most of us, I think.

One of these days, I'm gonna figure out how to hide a "mention" behind a pic.
Then, my "Brink signal" will be truly awesome.

Yes I can get the upgrade through WU, but I like to do ISO upgrades for new versions, just to clean things up a bit.

I'm also on the Public Channel...
I guess I'm expecting 23H2 on October patch Tuesday or the preview update at the end of October.

My most desired option would be an enablement package for 23H2.
I love enablement packages.

Quick and dirty... no muss, no fuss.

In fact... MS should make ALL feature updates, into enablement packages. That would be nice.

It's hit and miss. There is a good possibility that ISO images will be available tomorrow (Tuesday), but they may my ISO images with an install.esd rather than an install.wim. If you are not familiar with the difference, then it probably won't matter to you.

That said, there is no guarantee. We will simply need to wait and see. Sometimes they are available day 1, sometimes you need to wait a day or two. However, on what used to be called MSDN, now part of the Visual Studio site, it's almost certain to be available Tuesday which means it will be leaking onto the web rather quickly.

I am always obsessed with getting a hold of ISO images rapidly, especially because I modify the images for various purposes so I guarantee that I will be on the lookout. If I find a legitimate source, I'll post back here.

i thought MS clarified that 23H2 wasn't coming out for a while yet, was a misunderstanding at their conference. I think it's going to be late Oct.

Correct. Today's update is still technically a 22H2 update. Some are unofficially calling it the "Moment 4" update.

slightly OT but I know you do some work for a church at times (I think) so how about this tye of view when leaving / arriving !!!!

MDL is a very legitimate source for Microsoft iso files, I'm a loooooong time member there

Saw an article last night saying that the actual 23H2 release won't be until November. It stated it rather matter of fact like as if that was set in stone and common knowledge. So, now the question is exactly what portion of the 23H2 feature set gets released today. We know for sure about Copilot which I could care less about. My primary hope is that we get the "improved" File Explorer.

File explorer update appeared in Release Preview 22621.2361 so should appear in Public build today

I do some volunteer work at our church. I run sound....specifically I do in-ear monitor mixes for the band.

I'm still trying to understand what all the fuss is about with this new AI windows copilot thing is -- if you want decent AI just run some Python code

Of course the whole process revolves around what exactly you want the A.I to learn - and if it's designed by Humans there are bound to be conflicts -- such as with AI in 2 automonous driverless buses buses -- one has 2 kids and a driver (only 3 people) while the the other has 67 pensioners, state governor and a few civic dignataries --possibly 80 people in it.

In a crash in which the inevitable outcome is one bus will have many fatally injured / wounded - while the other will escape -- do you chose the one with just 2 kids and the driver in it or the other one with a load more people plus huge expense and possible shortage of hospital capacity to operate on the injured plus power vacuum in the city/ state where the leaders could be killed . Instinctive thought might say resue the 2 kids but that outcome could possibly lead to real potential problems.

The choice is not always clear cut -- so AI can present formidible difficulties from a Human rather than pure logic view and that's where the mega danger is. I'm glad I don't have to design AI with those things needing to be taken into account !!!.
