After one laptop dying and setting up my identical spare laptop, I needed another "spare" laptop. I've bought a near identical one again, second hand
HP Pavilion 14 ce series 10th generation. I like the smaller touch pads on them. Core i7 with a smidgen of nvidia graphics for £350 (virtually unused). From a reliable ebay seller (apparently).
Bree - I did look on Cash Converters and they had one but it cost more and was well used!
Edit - the reason there are so many of these available second hand (I think) is that they are all models that came with an Optane drive, which is a headache. So I'll just be putting a bigger non optane ssd in and doing a clean install - as before.
The other reason I like them is you can swap/upgrade both the ram and the ssd and there's a compartment for a sata ssd as well. Plus it has a replaceable charging socket - if necessary. And I'll have two spare chargers now. I still preferred my HP Pavilion DM4 though and used that for years.
