Is there a way to preserve the original file and folder timestamps when writing ISO to USB using Rufus or other ISO to USB tools? When I burn the direct downloaded ISO to Blu-Ray using any ISO burner it preserves all of the original timestamps since it writes sector by sector to Blu-Ray. If I use media creation tools the boot.wim and install.esd and all folders will have the current last modified timestamps instead of the original last modified timestamps but all of the creation timestamps are set from the current date and time.

I would think that if you have the original ISO, you`re good. Don`t use the MCT.

I never need Rufus or any other 3rd-party tools to write to a USB. That's because I use the MCT to create my ISO. This ISO not only has all the original MS 'date modified' timestamps for its files and folders, but can also be mounted and copied direct to a usb with File Explorer (which preserves the modified dates). No special tools are needed, just File Explorer, because the MCT creates an ISO with an install.esd that smaller than the Fat32 4GB filesize limit.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

That is correct. Windows 11 is only available as a 64 bit OS. Come to that, OEMs have not been allowed to install x86 Windows 10 on new PCs since May 2020.

Thanks, Mandalore seems to be resort-orientated, one in OK [Mandalore Ranch], one in IL, one in Mexico and others.
