Hi folks
Ms have been at it again --trying to dumb down stuff so it's hard to fix things when they don't work.
For example you might have a special email server or you only can RECEIVE emails from a specific location so you need to uncheck the box test account when this is the case. Currently you can't uncheck the box so if send email fails you are stuck and the mailbox or account is not created..
Here's a get around -- use WITH CARE.
start the setup via the control panel applet and set up manually. meanwhile ensure the task manager application is running.
At the test sending stage - once the receive has started working KILL the application BEFORE the sending check starts -- either via task manager or in a VM force immediate power off. (In KVM force power off for a VM is is immediate !!).
You'll find the inbox has now been set up and works -- then you can "repair mail box" and add all the outbound stuff.
Not the best way to solve a problem but it does work. Don't have too much running on Windows if you do this though. On a VM it's fine of course.
Cheers
