PC not recognizing iphone

If you don’t have WiFi turned on, i’d be interested to know why? As soon as you’re within range of your router, the iPhone will switch to WiFi. Most people would do this to avoid Mobile Data costs.
I disabled the WiFi on my AT&T router so that I could use a mesh router throughout the house. My mesh router handles all of my wifi devices, while the wired router (AT&T Fiber) handles my PC. If there is another way to integrate the two routers, I don't know how to do that. I hope this makes sense.
Yes, I know I posted this reply before.

I really don’t know how you've setup your router and mesh system.

A mesh is supposed to amplify WiFi from the main router. At least in my Asus setup, both WiFi and LAN connections are enabled in my primary router so the mesh router (old Asus router) can boost that WiFi.

So I can’t really help you, mostly because I am cleaning up Cyclone damage for the next few days and only have time for simple interactions. There are others in here way more experienced with networking.
But setting up your router and mesh is a question for the Network and Internet section of this forum.
When both wireless and LAN connections are enabled in the router, a phone should then be on the same network as your PC and that app should (will) work.

Perhaps you should look for other options then.

According to google's AI overview: Yes, it's generally recommended that you disable the WiFi functionality on your fiber router (modem/router combo) when using a mesh router to avoid potential interference and ensure optimal performance of your mesh network. Maybe it's different on an Asus PC/laptop?

Maybe it’s different with your Mesh setup, Asus modem/router works totally differently (when using another Asus router as the mesh node)

You might try uploading your photos from your phone to Amazon Photos then download to your computer if you want. Amazon allows full resolution unlimited storage for photos with Prime.
I downloaded the Amazon photo app. So far, the photo storage size is unlimited, but the video storage size is set at 5 GB (free), or $1 per month for 50 GB, $2 per month for 100 GB.

Yes, they charge for video storage, but i don't do videos. If you want to send the video from the phone to the computer you could always email it to your self. If you have an iphone with a usb c charging port you could also plug an external ssd into that, transfer the video there, and then bring that wherever you'd like.
