This tutorial will show you how to pin the "Recent folders" folder to Quick Access for your account in Windows 11.
Quick access in the navigation pane of File Explorer (Win+E) allows you to quickly access and view your pinned folders, frequent Folders, Pinned files, and Recent files from one location in Quick Access.
Recent folders (aka: Recent Places) is a list of all folders that you have used or opened recently. It shows more of your recently opened folders than Quick access does by default.
If wanted, you can pin the "Recent folders" folder to Quick Access for easier access.
Contents
- Option One: Pin "Recent folders" to Quick Access
- Option Two: Unpin "Recent folders" from Quick Access
EXAMPLE: Recent folders pinned to Quick access
1 Open File Explorer (Win+E).
2 Copy and paste the shell command below into the address bar of File Explorer, and press Enter to open the Recent folders folder. (see screenshot below)
shell:::{22877a6d-37a1-461a-91b0-dbda5aaebc99}
3 Click/tap on the See more (3 dots) button on the command bar, and click/tap on Pin to Quick access. (see screenshot below)
1 Open Home in File Explorer (Win+E).
2 Right click on the pinned Recent folders folder, and click/tap on Unpin from Quick access. (see screenshot below)
That's it,
