I've been using iTunes for years to subscribe and download podcast episodes. I listen from both my iPod and by copying the podcast MP3s to USB sticks. Yeah, that's the old school model of offline listening. I listen in a lot places where streaming is either impractical or not available at all. So, old school it is.

Getting to the point, the iTunes process for managing podcasts is proving increasingly aggravating. What's your favorite non-iTunes software to subscribe and download, then manage the downloaded files or just interact gracefully with managing them in Explorer?

Here is a list of Podcast Clients, if you are interested:

Not sure of the feature list of each one, so you probably got to visit the site of each one, to find out.

My local Radio Stations use WinAmp, which can download Podcasts and has it's own Media Player and Playlist facility. The App is configured to start when Windows starts, so the show presenters can just use the computer like a CD Player or Turntable.

I can recommend winamp - it seems to do the job. It is just that I wasn't the one who chose it. It was already set up and configured when I arrived at the radio station, so I cannot guide you through the selection process.

Sorry I cannot be any more help. Other forum members may have more experience on the matter.
