Since performing a System Restore my mouse (running on 3 external monitors) appears as a text cursor on a certain monitor only. Making it difficult to select things. Tried:
  • Restarting more times than one can count
  • Rearranging the leads feeding into the docking station
  • Rearranging the display monitor arrangement (to left, right etc..) & adjusting resolution & magnification
  • Device Manager - Deleting all mouse items & restarting
  • Graphics Card - latest version used; tried reinstalling current update
  • Changing cursor & mouse settings
  • Task Manager - restart windows explorer
  • Task Manager - stop third party Logi Options (Logitech mouse) though this is never going to be the issue as this is obviously a low-level issue within the OS itself
  • Command Prompt - not a single corrupted file:
    • sfc /scannow
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Using Win 11 Pro Ver 23H2 Build 22631.4541 (rarely ever makes a difference). Anyone in future avoid Win 11 & stick to the more stable & better featured Win 10.

After loosing the best part of the day trying the above & much, much more. This is the best thread I've found should it help someone in the future.

My fix on this occasion – disconnecting from laptop (tried many different permutations previously) Settings > Accessibility > Mouse Pointer & Touch > resizing pointer size (tried previously on many different permutations) & then reconnecting the docking station.
