Problem with Display after 22H2 Update!

I started seeing a strange behavior on my laptop display after the 22h2 update. When scrolling in firefox I realized that the text would become blurry. Also any mouse movement would result in broken image. I recorded my screen with my mobile phone so you can see what's going on:

I am a little concerned that this could be a hardware problem!

Not seeing any change here on a Dell Vostro Desktop with Intel UHD Graphics 630 from April with 22H2 installed yesterday nor on an HP Pavilion 590 with same graphics running Firefox and Edge.

I went back to windows 21H2 and the problem is still there! So it had nothing to do with 22H2 update.
To reproduce the problem I open reddit and scroll up and down fast for few seconds. Screen will flicker
and after that the display corruption is present as you can see in the video. Any mouse movement will
blur the screen.
To see this correctly in my video please set video resolution to Max.

I don't know which GPU is causing this. The onboard intel UHD or Nvidia RTX3080!

Here another screen shot from my desktop when problem occurs.

Edit:
I disabled the intel UHD onboard GPU from bios and only use Nvidia 3080. Now the problem is gone and screen is OK.
So the problem is related to the intel GPU. I just don't know if this is hardware related or not!

Test it using only Intel graphics. If that looks ok, it would seem to be some kind of interference between the two. With the cpu you listed, it has to still be under warranty.

Hello glasskuter,
I have many times disabled the onboard intel GPU and used the Nvidia one. But I don't know if it's possible to disable the Nvidia GPU! How can this be done?

I did a lot of investigation last night and finally figured out that if I disable hardware acceleration in firefox this will no longer happen. But this still dose not tell me that the problem is not hardware related! If this was a general firefox problem thousand of people should have been affected.

Another thing I also tried was to download an older build of firefox (version 104.0.2). With this build this problem dose not happen either!

It doesn't matter which GPU is causing the problem. What matters is you do have a problem with a top of the line laptop, so I would be letting the manufacturer figure it out while it's still under warranty.If it turns out to be the intel one, that could mean either your cpu is defective or there's some kind of bus interference on the mobo.

If you have an Nvidia 3080... just turn the Intel IGP... OFF, for good.

...and LOTS of people have issue with Hardware Acceleration, being on or off. Many people don't care enough to post about it though.

Anytime a software setting can make the problem go away... you don't have a hardware issue.
If you did have a hardware problem... there aren't any software settings that could make it go away.

There was a new Nvidia driver just released, which may also be a cause of the problem. 517.xx

You must have been raised on HD video.
Why back in my day, we were happy to be able to get a picture at all.

@Ghot I can't believe I'm saying this since you know so much more than me, but I disagree. When one disables a piece of hardware in bios, and the problem goes away, that points to a hardware problem. The bios is not software in the normal sense of the word. You're just instructing the cpu to not use it's integrated graphics and the cpu is definitely hardware.

I think it's just a conflict between the two graphics parts.
As the OP said... when he disables the IGP, the problem goes away.

We're both saying the same thing.. really.

Turning the intel IGP OFF is also a question I have been asking myself. The RTX3080 is more powerful and I don't totally understand the reason why you need two GPU apart for a little energy consummation optimization. But I saw that when I was encoding High quality 8K videos, the intel gpu was decoding and reading the videos, while the RTX was encoding and this was way faster then using one gpu.

@Ghot That video about old TVs just made my heart feel so strange. I don't know if it's because I was young or if life was more happy and relaxed!? but I would give anything to go to that time :)

I still have 10 more days to send the laptop back to amazon for a refund. Honestly if there is a problem with such an expensive laptop I prefer returning it then having to go through RMA and have to deal with manufacturer and repair. So yes, I am feeling a little tense and really hope to make sure this laptop is not defective before I can no longer return it.
