Windows 11
I made a Paragon back up, it is on a separate disk from my (C:) drive, this was done of Paragon's free software.
Following my Windows 11 re-installation, I downloaded and installed Paragon Backup and Recovery 18 Community Edition.
I have also downloaded and installed Paragon Paragon SOF on a memory stick.
It in turn has located the backup that I with to re-install.
In trying to install this backup I get as far as View backup contents, Browse backup contents and view disk layout.
Now clicking on any of the disks >, also Files and Folders nothing happens, no drop downs appear.
I can go no further, could somebody please advise as to what I should do next?

Welcome to the forum. Please clarify something for me. (I don't use Paragon specifically)
Are you trying to a restore a backup image from WITHIN Windows using the Paragon application that you installed in your new installation? Or are you booting from the Paragon recovery usb disk?
Why I ask is because you then say you see "View backup contents". That sounds to me like you have mounted the backup image from your desktop app.
You cannot restore an image from within Windows. You have to boot from Paragon recovery media.

I couldn't find written tutorials on the Paragon site but see if this one will help.

Thank you for your reply.
I am indeed trying to restore this image from Paragon's recovery media, which is on a USB stick.
Now in looking at your CT link I get as far down as What to restore, then I hit a huge problem.
On the one I am using in my current media, which in itself looks different, it freezes at this page - see attached.
So please could you advise further?

Sorry about the difference in appearance. The tutorial I gave may well be for an older version. I couldn't believe Paragon doesn't have a detailed user manual straight from its site. But it only references the user manual to be included in the desktop application.I also found your Reddit, Techspot, and Toms Hardware posts.

I kept digging and finaly found this article below that gives all screenshots of a restore. It says it's for Community Edition 18. It appears you must be in "advanced restore options" and I'm not sure that's where you are..
About half way down the page I see this.

Moving on and the restoration of an entire drive is also possible when making use of disk image-based backups. This process begins by selecting the backup set to be restored, the data file to be used and then the “Restore entire Disks/Volumes” tab which allows for the specified historic version to be chosen.

paragon backup & recovery - selecting disk image restore option

Given the nature of restoring entire disks from disk image backups, the software will at this point ask if we would like it to check the integrity of the backup files prior to commencing. Whilst this can be skipped, it is usually a good idea to ensure the validity checks are allowed meaning the integrity of the data is retained as much as is possible.

Sorry I can not give more straightforward help as I have never used the program. It is not one of the more widely used ones that we get questioned about, so I do not know any of the regular members who do. Hopefully , someone who is familiar with it will chime in to help you.
