Windows 11
When this driver is installed by either the Win 224H2 26100.2894 update, G-Helper, or ASUS Support Assistant it breaks the audio functionality. The problem is likely specifically related to the ASUS product line.

My interim solution is to revert to 24H2 26100.2605 and pause updates for a week. Will try again then, and if necessary continue pausing until a newer driver is released.

It is an ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED laptop.

After install a .mp4 will not play with Media Player (current or legacy), or VLC player, and .mp3 files will play but there is not sound from either speakers or headphones.

A restore of the OS resolves the playback and sound issues. The problem is the new driver.

downgrade or rollback the Realtek audio driver to an older version and block/disable Asus assistant from updating the audio driver (adjust that app to disable updates). either use Device Manager to rollback the driver to an older version or completely uninstall the 6.0.9780.1 version, reboot and install the older version and reboot again.

apparently Asus released the 6.0.9780.1 version for a UX3405MA (this is a specific Zenbook 14 OLED) & similar model laptops. go to that support page and download & install the older version like 6.0.9629.1.

How to stop Windows 11 from downloading Drivers

don't allow the Windows 11 OS, nor any 3rd party update tool like Asus assistant from blindly updating your drivers without your approval or consent
