Received Replacement Front I/O From Lian Li Support

Hello There

Received a Replacement Front I/O port thingy from Lian Li Support for my Lian Li LanCool 216 ARGB Case!

Wondering though on average how long does it take to tackle the job of removing the Old I/0 port thingy, then installing the new replacement, re routing all the cables etc.

**hardly get peace in my real life, so gonna try to do it sometime soon when there gone for an hour or two**

Then will use USB C in the front not as much or invest in a USB C Hub lol

Some people can do it in minutes, others would take hours and mess it up, it depends on the individual.

Speaking from experience since 1994, there's a few variables involved in replacing parts, one is how much experience one has in building or repairing computers, recognizing which parts go where, how much disassembling is required, etc. Larger Desktops aren't too bad but the SFF and Micro/MiniSFF machines are more difficult. Notebook/Laptop machines are even more difficult at times depending upon what the parts are, usually changing a Wireless adapter requires removing the rear of the case and the keyboard.

Knows have to get the cables carefully undone from Motherboard from old I/o ports, then carefully get them out from cable management side of case

Then secure the newer i/o port thing ontop case, then route and connect the newer cables.

Most likely i'll be removing Glass side panel to get access to the motherboard connections, Front Cover, and Wiring side of case i think

Experience wise i've hooked up cables in my older desktops when i transferred 2 motherboards to different cases back in 2009

From what i can see thru glass side panel currently the Reset, Power, and that stuff appears to be one connection, versus the invididual connections from years ago, just have to get it on correctly for it to work right.

hopefully i don't have any trouble with the usb C connection or usb 3.0 connections lol, but i am gonna be very careful and not mess up

I checked the manual.

The front panel, USB 3.x Gen2, and USB 3.0 connections all seem pretty foolproof.

I hope that it's as easy as it looks.

Yeah i just was reading over the manual myself--hopefully it is just as easy and doesn't take me all day on day i plan to do it lol.

((then once all the cables cable managed, then connected, then will clean front filter, and psu filter, then close up case, put back into original spot. and then reconnect rear cables and power, and then hope all works fine))


Then might briefly test out all the ports, then only use front usb c sparingly, as right now cables are very loose if i plug a cable into it with current i/o port thats currently on case.

Guess i may have used front usb c too much oops

Edit: back in 2009 i transferred 2 older systems from old ATX cases to newer cases at the time, and did not have the front i/o ports on one connection, so i did that successfully back then, but also had No RL interruptions back then, but i think i should be able to get this done correctly when it gets to day to tackle it, and then will be proud of myself
