This tutorial will show you how to refresh or hard refresh a web page in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The Microsoft Edge web browser is based on Chromium and was released on January 15, 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS. With speed, performance, best in class compatibility for websites and extensions, and built-in privacy and security features.
You can refresh a page in Microsoft Edge to reload the page in the current tab without closing it.
A normal refresh of a page in Edge can help update content or fix minor display issues, but may use cached images and files. This can be useful when web pages do not load correctly due to temporary glitches. A normal refresh can often fix small loading issues or inconsistencies on the page.
A hard refresh forces Edge to bypass cached data and load the latest version of the page from the server. This can be useful when a normal refresh doesn't resolve a page failing to load correctly.
Using empty cache and hard refresh deletes cached images and files for the page from Edge to force future visits to download them again, then performs a hard refresh to load the latest version of the page from the server.
