Whilst lease versions, you get updates in lease period. However, you can use it after lease ends but no updates.


The licenses for Revo Uninstaller Pro are purchased for an active subscription for 1 or 2 years and are eligible for free updates and technical support. Once the subscription period expires, Revo Uninstaller Pro remains usable with previously released versions.

If you wish to update to a newer version, you need to renew (i.e., purchase a new subscription license, though at a significant discount) and apply its Serial number to the particular copy of the program. This is called the Update Subscription option.

Alternatively, you can continue using your already purchased version without time limitations.

edit: bought 1 year lease on portable version which can be used on any pc, saved in onedrive (so I do not need to faff around with usb drives). Good deal as can be used once lease deal terminates.

I can honestly say in all the time I've been using Windows (ever since rel 3.11 Windows for Workgroups) I've never needed this type of product - but for some who willy nilly just do click,click,click etc when downloading software without carefully reading what they are actually downloading (Revo is fine -- talking about other stuff) so get PUPS, other unwanted software etc on their machines then go for it. It does what it says -- but if you are careful with downloads you shouldn't need this any more.

A few years ago downloading some software was always dubious because there were zillions of links to "extras" while the real download was hidden in a miasma of obfuscation. That practice seems to have largely gone away now.

For less than $10 for a 1 year subscription or less than $20 for the 2 year subscription I am quite happy to renew a Subscription. Also by using the "Update Subscription" link within Revo Uninstaller my 2 Year renewal period was added was added to the number of days left on my current subscription (22 days)

@jimbo45 Revo Uninstaller is really good at getting rid of pre-installed Store Apps that you don't want contained in restricted folders or software you have installed that has become obsolete with a newer version or no longer needed.

Also I manually search the registry very carefully too as there are still left overs even after using Revo Uninstaller.

Most of the time, this is not needed but once in a while, you get an app that leaves behind all sorts of detritus.

Sometimes you cannot update an app as you need to uninstall the old version but something goes wrong and you get caught in a catch 22 loop.

Office is one of the worst offenders. Sure I can faff around sorting issues but Revo just saves hassle when needed

That is when Revo is useful. £7 for unlimited number of pcs is well worth it.

Whether I bother updating lease largely depends if old version stops working properly.

For people who need it -- just fine -- nothing against that product - However for $US 10.00 or so for the pro version (1 off - not a sub) then the portable version is fine. I try and avoid installing apps from the store - the developers web sites usually offer more features too.
