The type of the file system is exFAT.


Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.

Anyone help fix this also tried attributes attributes disk clear readonly

My sandisk ultra usb 3.0 is write protected what to do?

My new sandisk ultra usb 3.0 is write protected. I tried to change it throgh command prompt ( attributes disk clean read only) but the issue is not solved I tried to change it through regedit. But still issue is not solved. I tried to change it through third party software. But it didn’t...

you can also use a live Linux distro to clear/delete partitions and re-format the drive.

Cannot format USB that previously had RUFUS WIN11 Inst - Write Protected.

Halo 🙏 I have 2 x 32GB USB drives that have RUFUS created Windows 11 install media on them. I want to format them for other purposes. Trying to format them gives me a write protected message. I can’t work it out. The USB’s work fine, I tested by initiating an install. Thanks 🙏

When? Are you saying that you used the above settings and it didn't work? It's never failed me, I can't explain why it didn't work for you with RUFUS
