Hi, tried to search for some solution but can't find one :( When I click search in the bottom it opens an empty box but nothing loads, if I type something in e.g. "winver" I can then press enter and it'll open winver but it doesn't show the actual results, if someone can tell me how to fix it I'd greatly appreciate it! :)

Since you are running 23H2, which is a Beta build it is probably a bug that Microsoft will fix sometime. Maybe not something that you can fix?

Yeah maybe :(

Thought I went with the most stable one, relatively speaking!

I ran sfc /scannow and it said it found some corrupted files that it replaced, I rebooted and when it restarted and was still loading things I click the search box and it actually loaded properly and showed things, but once the PC was finished loading fully it was back to being blank again :(

Try this batch script.

Thanks but didn't make any difference unfortunately.

On rebooting while things are loading it partially works:

But then when windows is fully loaded it's back to being black.

I created a new user account to test and it worked perfectly on that so clearly something is messed up on my user profile, but no idea what :(

You can also perform in-place upgrade of Windows 11. In-place upgrade is to use to replace the current operating system files on your computer. Unlike a clean installation of Windows, you can start a Windows in-place upgrade when your OS is still running. And an in-place upgrade can keep your files, settings, & apps during the upgrade process. You can perform a Windows 11 in-place upgrade is to use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. Make sure to select Upgrade this PC now and click Next. Follow the on-screen guide to perform a Windows 11 in-place upgrade.

@FreeBooter If he can make a new user account and the problem is fixed, an inplace upgrade won't help him.

To the OP, you can try a clean boot just to be sure software installed under your user account isn't causing the problem. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

If software does not prove to be causing the problem, you can't "fix" a corrupted user account. You have to create a new account. Make sure it is an administrator account. The only way to get your files into the new account without running into permission problems is to COPY them to external media from the old account. Login to the new account and COPY them into it. You can not MOVE files from one account to the other. Permission problems will eat you alive if you do.

Once you have everything set up in new account, delete old account.

Thanks for that! Tried a clean boot and no difference, so yeah I think I'll have to go the route of "cloning" this iffy user profile, just wish their was a less tedious/automated way to do it so I don't lose any settings/app configurations etc. etc. :)

Things to keep in mind when creating a new user account.
If you currently use a MS account, you will need to create the new account as a LOCAL account as administrator. Once you delete your current account , you can then change your new account to a MS account if you want to.
If you currently sync to onedrive, once the new account is changed to your MS account, you can set up onedrive and your files should then sync to it and show up into the new account. Just to be on the safe side, though, I would still backup my old account files to external media.
